Quantum of the Seas to leave building dock II

Quantum of the Seas, built for US cruise operator Royal Caribbean International, is scheduled for Float Out on Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

Then the 167.800-gt cruise ship, the third largest cruise ship in the world, will leave MEYER WERFT’s covered building dock II. 
The Float Out is planned for 4 pm CET (10 am CET)

Following the float-out, the Quantum of the Seas will be berthed alongside the yard's pier for one night, before being turned for the thruster and stabiliser tests.

With the ship berthed at the yard's pier, the remaining works as well as tests and trials will be carried out on board until the ship’s conveyance down the river Ems to the North Sea, which is scheduled for September 21. 2014

Many test will be done during this time along with sea trials and propulsion. The ship will be delivered to Royal Caribbean in November 2014. 


Royal Caribbeans most innovative vessel will then sail its 8 Nights Hight Ocean Voyage from Southampton to Cape Liberty, Beyonne in New Jersey on November 2, 2014; followed by two sampler Cruise before the 8 Night Inaugural Bahamas Cruise November 23 and Southern Caribbean Cruises through December to April 2015. After that it will reposition to China where it will sail all year round from Shanghai starting from May 2015.
